Green Tree Pharmacy typically utilizes the 30-day bingo medication card system, the most commonly used drug distribution system in long-term care. The multiple checks employed in our system provide for a high level of accuracy.
Other distribution systems are available when required by the facility. Green Tree Pharmacy also employs automated packaging systems that generate unit dose or multi-dose strip-packed medications. This system has been demonstrated to substantially reduce med pass times.
Green Tree Pharmacy supplies medication carts and treatment carts needed in the course of administering medications and treatments.
Medications needed before the next scheduled delivery may be obtained through one of several processes. We supply standard or automated convenience boxes (C-Box) that are stocked with medications as requested by the facility. We encourage the facility to keep a variety of frequently used medications in the C-Box. We also have emergency boxes for each facility.
Green Tree Pharmacy offers the services of a contractual arrangement with a local pharmacy to serve as a back-up for items not available from the sources listed above. We arrange for the delivery of the needed items to the facility. Orders are transmitted to the pharmacy via fax, and Green Tree Pharmacy supplies fax machines for each nurses station. We are also equipped to receive electronic order transmissions from facilities’ computer systems.
Green Tree Pharmacy is organized so that each of the data entry technicians is assigned responsibility for a small group of facilities. This way, when your staff calls the pharmacy, they will always communicate directly with the designated tech for your facility, rather than just getting a random tech who may not be familiar with your facility, as frequently happens with the large national chain pharmacies. Our techs develop relationships with your staff. This system fosters continuity of care.
